Reinforcements

So before today I had a decent sized Army of about 1400 points for my space marines with more on order. That is of course when finished.

Now due to the order arriving I have no idea.

To highlight a bit most of the models are infantry and old. Rouge Trader era old and more than I thought it would me. Others are not so old but still a little dated where a few are rather new. Along with the infantry I have gained a landspeeder (still in the box of the 3rd ed make), another dreadnought (with several arm choices), and two pre-assembled rhinos.

Also making an appearance was a part I had not have been thinking about but am very happy to get. Supplied was one of the old, over the shoulder, Heavy Bolters. As such my job of using the same shoulder plates on one of my tactical squads has been made that much easier.

I know for certain I can produce two more tactical squads, an assualt squad, command squad, landspeeder squad, and dreadnought. Beyond this I know not what.

Incidentally these new models were giving me ideas of the possibility of a Machine Cult army but right now I am going to stick with my current one.

And now for a few pictures.

Captain Filler

So still working on the same scout model. I guess you could say I effectivly took a week long break before picking it up again. I started in on the rifle and I'm about fiftey percent done after only some hour or two's worth of work. Over fifty percent I think.

Anyway so it's not a solid loss I took some pictures of the Captain I have. I got him with the Assault on Black Reach set and have done the best I can with what I have for paints. When I get some new paints I plan on altering the purity seals to a better parchment color. No fluff for him yet, if at all. Looking at replacing him eventually.

And without further delay here are some pictures:

Scouts

So I've been working on my scouts of late and I hit a bit of a brick wall on the first one. Real simple solution but not so easy to accomplish. Simply put I need new paints. Namely its the gray I have been using.

Alright so starting from the beginning, I like to paint my models while I assemble them. To me it gives them a better quality job as I can get to those places normally hard for me. Well I decided I wanted my Scout's camo-cloaks to be of some sort of urban camouflage. I started the Games Workshop's page on painting Imperial guard with different camouflage however ended up botching it just a bit and going on with my own pattern.

However the base color of gray I used is extremely uncooperative. It is not a Citadel paint, instead being some other European company's and seems like it was meant for Fighter and Ship models instead. Never the less I got decent results but it consisted of me having to do two coats of that paint before I could do the other colors over it.

Either way I still have more scouts to paint and this one to finish but I'm stalling till I can find a replacement paint, preferably from Citadel, to replace it. Got some pictures for you too!

Here I Go Again

Well I here go again. This time I am actually going to make an effort to keep one of these things up and running regularly. This layout is completely new to me however so bare with me if these first few posts are a bit crude.

First things first, if your reading this it means you were linked to my Warhammer 40k work blog. I have my envy of other players to thank for it, with perhaps a little dash of ego.

Anyway onto the first bit of news:

Yesterday I recived through the mail my copy of the new Imperial Guard Codex. Now I've always been a big fan of your generic space marine and I decided to branch out a bit and try something new.

Only a few ideas of what I am going to do for army so far and chances are I will be able to finish my Space Marines before I even get any guard models in due to shipping times being what they are.

Anway, thats all for now. I'll post another update in a few days or so.
